Confident teaching lessons in Biology, Chemistry or Physics at Secondary level?

Available to teach GCSE or Functional Skills science 1:1 for a maximum of 10 hours a week

We are looking to appoint an effective and experienced Science teacher to work with a virtual school in West London providing 1:1 science lessons to a pupil in preparation for GCSE/Functional Skills exams. Our teachers are vital to the educational development of vulnerable pupils who are in care or have difficulties accessing education in mainstream settings. We are looking for qualified secondary teachers who want to make a tangible impact to a young persons prospects in education and society.

The school requires qualified teachers with UK recognised teaching qualifications and experience teaching Science to KS3-KS4 students. Successful teachers will usually work a minimum of 2 hours daily with a student however; this is flexible dependant on both the teacher and student's availability.

The role is to start immediately with the initial learning programme being in 10 weeks blocks which may extend dependant on the learning needs of the pupil.

Requirements:

  • UK recognised teaching qualifications - QTS, NQT, PGCE
  • Experience teaching Science (Biology, Chemistry or Physics) to Secondary aged students
  • Confidence and experience teaching in accordance to GCSE, Functional Skills or WJEC Science

Pay:

  • Competitive hourly rates dependent on experience, qualifications and feedback (references)

Hours:

  • Flexible hours with minimum of 2 hours daily Monday to Friday

Location:

  • Based in West London local to Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster, Hammersmith and Fulham
  • Will be teaching alternative learning environments - libraries, alternative education centres and home tuition
