Science - Future Teachers - Graduate Scheme - North Manchester

Are you a recent Science graduate considering a career as a secondary school teacher? Would you like classroom experience as a Teaching Assistant before starting a Teacher Training course?

Teaching Personnel are seeking recent graduates of Science subjects to join their Future Teachers Graduate Scheme starting from September 2019. The Future Teachers Graduate Scheme has been designed to address the shortage of core subject teachers across Greater Manchester and across the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity for recent Science graduates to gain valuable classroom experience before starting a PGCE or other Teacher Training programme in the future.

  • Spend a full academic year as a Teaching Assistant at one of our partner schools in North Manchester
  • Partner schools are located in Oldham, Rochdale, Prestwich & Bury
  • Become part of a successful Science department
  • Learn from experienced and dedicated professionals throughout the school
  • Support applying for the school's own training programme or an affiliated scheme
  • Earn up to £1300 paid in weekly arrears

As part of our Future Teachers Graduate Scheme, the successful Science Graduate will complete a placement across a full academic year at one of our partner secondary schools in North Manchester. As a Graduate teaching Assistant, responsibilities will vary across the placement and will include general classroom support for students whilst assisting the main class teacher. More specialised and dedicated intervention on a 1:1 and small group scenario basis will provide opportunities to gain experience of delivering sessions to students which may involve supporting Special Educational Needs (SEN) students. As the placement progresses, the successful Graduate will start to cover lessons within their specialism to gain even more confidence in an educational setting.

Prospective applicants should hold a degree in a Science related subject having recently finished their course, and should be available during term time for the duration of the 2019/2020 academic year.

For immediate consideration for our Future Teachers Graduate Scheme, please upload an updated CV via the link below or contact Chris Beckenham at the Manchester North Secondary Branch directly, alternatively call on the number provided for further information.
