Are you a passionate Maths and Science Teacher looking for a new opportunity in Dorchester?

A welcoming and supportive middle school in the Dorchester area is seeking an enthusiastic teacher to join their team from after October half term. The school caters for pupils across Years 5–8, providing a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who enjoys working across upper primary and lower secondary age groups.

The successful candidate will be joining a school that is committed to providing a positive learning environment where pupils are encouraged to develop their confidence, knowledge and love of learning.

The Role

As a Maths and Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and appropriately challenging lessons across Years 5–8.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality Maths and Science lessons.
  • Teaching pupils across Years 5–8 with a range of abilities and needs.
  • Creating engaging lessons that encourage curiosity and participation.
  • Assessing and monitoring pupil progress.
  • Providing appropriate challenge and support to ensure all pupils can succeed.
  • Maintaining high expectations of behaviour and achievement.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider teaching team.
  • Contributing to the wider life of the school.

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for a teacher who is:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experienced in teaching Maths and Science, ideally within a primary, middle or secondary setting.
  • Confident teaching pupils across Years 5–8.
  • Able to plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons.
  • Passionate about supporting pupils' academic and personal development.
  • A strong communicator with excellent classroom management skills.
  • Adaptable, reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Committed to creating an inclusive and positive learning environment.
