School Support Worker

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children who need an alternative approach to learning? We are seeking a compassionate and adaptable SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team.
About the Role:
As a Support Woker, you will work closely with children with special educational needs (SEN) and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. Your role will be to provide support that allows pupils to thrive in a nurturing and inclusive environment. You’ll help deliver tailored learning experiences that focus on individual strengths and needs, fostering both academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEN/SEMH needs.
- Assist in creating a positive, safe, and stimulating learning environment.
- Adapt approaches and resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Support teachers in delivering personalised learning plans.
- Build trusting and supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in an SEN, SEMH, or alternative provision setting is preferred.
- Compassion, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting children’s wellbeing.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt quickly to changing situations.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Training & Development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
