Is delivering Phonics Interventions your specialism, do you have experience with Letters and Sounds or Read Write Inc. phonics schemes?
A Primary School in Blackburn have reached out to Teaching Personnel in order to source a Level 2 Support Assistant to work amongst Year 1 and Year 2 on a full time basis working Monday to Friday. In the mornings you are required to work with small groups of children in Year 1, delivering Phonics based interventions working with children who aren't reaching their age related expectations for Reading and Writing. The school has requested that the practitioner must have had Phonics training in order to raise the children's attainment successfully. During the afternoon sessions, the role is to be a general class Teaching Assistant supporting the Class Teacher in Year 2 with the afternoon lessons, because of this the Head Teacher would prefer a candidate with a good understanding of the National Curriculum in KS1.
This Church of England Primary School has a mixed catchment and is a mixed ability school, mainly serving the children from a social housing estate. The Head Teacher said she is keen to continue to raise attainment throughout the School and is looking to employ a dedicated and hardworking staff member with a great work ethic. She has also stated the pupil's behaviour is 'Generally very good' but 'Like any school has its challenging days which we tackle head first'. The successful practitioner must have good behaviour management and have a secure knowledge of current Behaviour Policies and Safeguarding.
The salary is based on a 6.5 hour position held in the mornings, Monday to Friday, and depending on experience, this could vary between £8.40-£10.50 per hour.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
