Job description

School Cleaner – SEN School, Chorley
Part-Time | 16 Hours per Week | Temp-to-Perm Opportunity

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting a Cleaner to work in a specialist SEN school based in Chorley. This is a part-time, term-time role with some holiday hours required for deep cleans. The position will start on a 12-week temporary basis through Teaching Personnel, with the opportunity to move onto a permanent school contract thereafter.

Key Details:

  • Hours: 16 hours per week

  • Start Time: Ideally 5:00am starts, but afternoon shifts may be considered for the right candidate

  • Location: Chorley

  • Contract: Temporary to permanent

  • Working Pattern: Term-time with additional hours for deep cleans during school holidays

Role Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning classrooms, corridors, toilets, and communal areas to a high standard

  • Ensuring a safe, hygienic environment for pupils and staff

  • Following the school's cleaning schedule and health & safety policies

  • Supporting the wider site team as required

Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have previous cleaning experience (school or care setting preferred but not essential)

  • Be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently

  • Be comfortable working around children and young people with additional needs

  • Hold or be willing to obtain a Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (Teaching Personnel can support with this)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
