School Caretaker

Job description

A school near Epsom are currently recruiting for a Caretaker position.

They are looking for ideally an experienced School Caretaker, however will be happy to hear from candidates who have good 'handy man' experience.


About the role
As a School Caretaker, you’ll be a facilities professional who supervises work across the school. You will have keyholder responsibilities and will be expected to:

  • Carry out day-to-day maintenance and minor repairs
  • Ensure the building and grounds are secure when not in use
  • Open the building in the morning
  • Ensure heating, lighting and alarm systems are checked regularly to ensure they are operational
  • Take responsibility for ordering equipment relevant to your role


This is a part time opportunity and will be from 7am for 2/3 hours.

About you

  • Ideally experience as a school caretaker, if not handy man experience and experience with alarm systems
  • A valid DBS on the DBS update service
  • Be available to interview and start immediately

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
