Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour
Contract Type: Full-Time, Ongoing
Hours: Monday – Friday (term time with some flexibility for school events)

Teaching Personnel are seeking a reliable and hardworking School Caretaker / Handyman to join a welcoming secondary school in Pontypridd. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining safe, clean, and well-presented environments for students and staff.

No previous school caretaking experience is required — just a practical, hands-on attitude and the ability to follow direction from the Site Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out basic maintenance and repairs across the school site (e.g., plumbing, painting, minor carpentry).
• Support with site security, including opening and locking the premises.
• Ensure the school grounds and buildings are safe, tidy, and well maintained.
• Assist with setting up classrooms and moving furniture or equipment when required.
• Work flexibly under the direction of the Site Manager and respond to day-to-day maintenance needs.

Candidate Requirements:

• Practical maintenance or handyman experience (DIY skills essential).
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow clear instructions.
• Adaptable, flexible, and reliable attitude.
• Willingness to apply for and maintain an Enhanced DBS certificate (assistance provided if needed).
• Good communication skills and a professional approach.
