Job description

Teaching Assistant Needed! – Cheltenham

Hey there!
Are you passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives? A fantastic community special school in Cheltenham is on the lookout for some brilliant Teaching Assistants to join their friendly and supportive team

This amazing school caters for pupils aged 4 to 19 and provides a creative, individualised, and exciting learning journey . Every young person here is celebrated for who they are — and that’s what makes this place so special

The pupils all have an EHCP or are being assessed for one, and most have severe or profound learning difficulties. The school’s facilities are seriously impressive — think soft play areas, a rock climbing wall, and outdoor learning spaces for every class! ‍♀️✨

You’ll need to have some experience with — or be open to — personal care (including toileting). Training and full support will be provided

The school’s ethos?
It’s simple — the young people come first. They celebrate every achievement, big or small, and love getting families involved in each student’s education and future goals ❤️

You’d be great for this role if you’re:

  • A Carer

  • An SEN Support Assistant

  • An Ex-Nurse

  • Or simply someone with a big heart and a willingness to learn

Having Team Teach or Thrive training is a bonus — but don’t worry if not, as full training is happily provided

If you’ve got a caring nature, a sense of fun, and a passion for helping young people achieve their best — we’d love to hear from you!

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
