Job description

A respected secondary school in Salisbury is looking for an engaging and knowledgeable Religious Studies Teacher to join their dedicated Humanities department on a permanent basis starting in September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher passionate about religion, philosophy, and ethical thinking, who is keen to inspire students to explore the rich diversity of world religions and engage with important moral and spiritual questions.

The school is renowned for its supportive environment, academic achievement, and emphasis on developing critical thinking. As part of the Humanities team, the successful candidate will teach Religious Studies across Key Stage 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience and departmental needs.

Role Highlights:

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy, or a related subject

  • Proven ability to teach Religious Studies at KS3 and KS4 (experience with A-Level Philosophy and Ethics is desirable but not essential)

  • A passion for religion and philosophy and the ability to make these subjects accessible and relevant to young people

  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage students with diverse views and backgrounds

  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with a proactive approach to both teaching and departmental collaboration
