Teacher of Religious Education – Permanent Role
Location: East Sussex
Salary: MPS/UPS
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2025
We are working in partnership with a secondary school in East Sussex to appoint a committed and reflective Teacher of Religious Education on a permanent basis from September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking Humanities department and contribute to the delivery of a curriculum that encourages critical thinking, empathy, and an understanding of diverse worldviews.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality RE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. The department has a strong track record of fostering respectful dialogue and deep thinking around ethical, philosophical, and religious issues, and is well-supported by senior leadership.

The ideal candidate will:

Hold QTS and have a specialism in Religious Education or a related discipline

Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and classroom practice

Be able to engage and inspire pupils across a range of abilities

Be committed to delivering an inclusive and balanced RE curriculum

Bring enthusiasm, curiosity, and a commitment to continuous improvement

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
