Job description

Teaching Personnel is working on behalf of aecondary school who are looking to appoint a Humanities Teacher, ideally with a specialism in Religious Studies. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed and reflective teacher to join a supportive department with a strong focus on student engagement and progress.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Religious Studies across KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to teach other humanities subjects depending on experience and school need.

This role is due to start from February half term or from Easter.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and well-structured Humanities lessons, with a focus on Religious Studies

  • Teach in line with the national curriculum and agreed departmental schemes of work

  • Assess, track and report on student progress in a timely and accurate manner

  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND and EAL students

  • Create a positive, inclusive and respectful classroom environment

  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, effort and achievement

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and Humanities department where appropriate

  • Follow all school policies, including safeguarding and health & safety procedures

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience teaching Religious Studies at secondary level

  • Ability to teach another Humanities subject is desirable

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

  • Passionate about Humanities education and developing students’ critical thinking

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
