Teaching Personnel is currently seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Reception Teaching Assistant to join a highly regarded primary school in the Runcorn area from November 2026.

This welcoming and community-focused primary school is recognised for its nurturing environment, strong leadership and commitment to helping every child achieve their potential. The school places a significant emphasis on early childhood development, positive relationships and creating a safe, engaging learning environment where children can flourish both academically and socially.

This role would suit an experienced EYFS Teaching Assistant or someone with relevant childcare experience looking to transition into a school-based setting.

The Role

As a Reception Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children during one of the most important stages of their educational journey. Working closely with the class teacher and wider EYFS team, you will help create a stimulating and engaging environment that encourages curiosity, confidence and a love of learning.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting children's learning through play-based activities and structured lessons
• Working with small groups to develop early literacy, numeracy and communication skills
• Providing additional support to pupils who may require extra guidance
• Assisting with phonics sessions and early reading development
• Encouraging positive behaviour, independence and social development
• Supporting children's personal, social and emotional wellbeing
• Helping to create an engaging and welcoming classroom environment
• Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents

We're Looking For

• Experience working with children in EYFS, nursery, preschool or primary settings
• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
• Knowledge of the EYFS curriculum would be advantageous
• A positive, patient and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine passion for supporting young children's development
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
