Religious Studies Teacher – Full-Time (QTS Qualified)

Location: Bournemouth
Sector: Secondary Education – Religious Studies
Start Date: September 2025 (or sooner if available)
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term
Salary: £150 – £220 per day (depending on experience)


In partnership with a progressive and inclusive secondary school in Bournemouth, Teaching Personnel are recruiting a dedicated Religious Studies Teacher to join the Humanities faculty. This is a fantastic opportunity for a QTS-qualified teacher who is passionate about belief, culture, and ethical thinking, and who values open dialogue in the classroom.


The Role:

As a Religious Studies Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and balanced RS lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

  • Guide students through major world religions, ethics, and philosophical inquiry

  • Encourage thoughtful discussion around belief systems and contemporary moral issues

  • Prepare students for GCSE RS assessments

  • Contribute to a collaborative and well-resourced Humanities department


What We’re Looking For:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
✅ A degree in Religious Studies, Theology, or Philosophy
✅ Strong subject knowledge and a reflective teaching approach
✅ Ability to engage students of varying abilities with thoughtful, inclusive teaching
✅ Excellent communication and classroom management skills

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with AQA or Edexcel GCSE RS specifications

  • Experience contributing to pastoral care or wellbeing initiatives

  • Involvement in assemblies, PSHE, or interfaith dialogue projects
