About the Role
A well-established secondary school in Harrow is seeking a qualified Science Teacher to join its dynamic and supportive department. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the ability to specialise in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics at Key Stage 5 being desirable.
✅ Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and effective science lessons aligned with the national curriculum
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Prepare students for GCSE (and A-Level, if applicable) examinations
- Contribute to departmental planning and extracurricular activities
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Degree in a Science-related discipline (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or similar)
- Experience teaching science in a UK secondary school
- Strong classroom management skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable
- Experience teaching A-Level
- Proven track record of strong exam results
- Passion for STEM enrichment and extracurricular engagement

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
