We are currently seeking a highly qualified and dedicated English Tutor to join our team as part of the National Tutoring Program. As a Tutor, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality educational support to students in Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4) English. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the academic success of students and contribute to their overall development.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored English tutoring sessions to students in KS3 and KS4, following the National Tutoring Program guidelines.
- Create engaging lesson plans and learning materials that align with the national curriculum and meet the specific needs of each student.
- Assess the strengths and areas for improvement of students, providing constructive feedback to help them progress.
- Identify learning barriers and implement effective strategies to overcome them, ensuring the students' academic success.
- Track and monitor student progress, maintaining accurate records of attendance, achievements, and areas requiring further attention.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and guardians to ensure a holistic approach to student support and foster a positive learning environment.
- Stay up-to-date with curriculum changes and educational best practices, continuously enhancing your teaching techniques and subject knowledge.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in English or a related field (or equivalent qualifications/experience).
- Prior tutoring or teaching experience, preferably with KS3 and KS4 students but not essential.
- In-depth knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 English curriculum, including grammar, literature, and writing skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students and adapt teaching methods to suit their learning styles.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, ensuring effective lesson planning and timely completion of administrative tasks.
- Passion for education and the ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
- Familiarity with the National Tutoring Program guidelines (or willingness to undergo training).
- Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance (or ability to obtain one).
Remuneration:
The remuneration for this position is set at £25-£50 per hour, based on qualifications, experience, and the level of responsibility. This rate reflects the importance of your role in the National Tutoring Program and the commitment to ensuring educational excellence.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
