The Role

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the national curriculum

  • Teach English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 opportunities may be available)

  • Track student progress, provide meaningful feedback, and support pupils of all abilities

  • Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and collaboration with colleagues

  • Create a stimulating classroom environment that encourages independent learning and critical thinking


About You

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in English or related field

  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for English education

  • Experience teaching in UK secondary schools (including placements for ECTs)

  • Excellent behaviour management skills and a proactive teaching style

  • Commitment to high academic standards and inclusive learning

  • Willingness to undergo full safeguarding checks including an enhanced DBS

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
