The successful candidate will be a dynamic and dedicated educator who can inspire students through engaging, inclusive, and practical art lessons across KS3 and KS4. Whether you're an experienced Art teacher or an Early Career Teacher with a strong portfolio and a bold vision, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver high-quality Art lessons that develop pupils’ practical skills, critical thinking, and appreciation of visual culture
• Teach a range of artistic media including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, and digital art
• Design and implement engaging schemes of work in line with the national curriculum and departmental vision
• Prepare pupils for GCSE Art & Design, including support with coursework, sketchbooks, and portfolio development
• Encourage experimentation, creativity, and confidence through formative feedback and personalised guidance
• Organise and display student artwork across the school and contribute to exhibitions, art clubs, and whole-school events
• Promote the importance of cultural capital through exploration of diverse artists, movements, and global perspectives
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating art classroom environment
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to faculty planning, assessment, and moderation
Ideal Candidate Profile:
• Holds UK QTS or QTLS with a specialism in Art & Design or a closely related subject
• Has experience teaching Art at KS3 and KS4 (experience with KS5 desirable but not essential)
• Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and strong practical expertise across artistic disciplines
• Has a passion for visual arts and a commitment to nurturing student creativity and confidence
• Possesses strong classroom management skills and a positive approach to behaviour and inclusion
• Is enthusiastic about contributing to the wider school life through clubs, displays, and projects
• Is reflective, resilient, and keen to continually develop professionally

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
