Pupil Referral Unit - Teaching Assistant - Gillingham

Teaching Personnel are working with a Pupil Referral Unit in the Gillingham. They cater for students in KS4 that have been permanently excluded from one or more mainstream schools. They currently have around 40 students on roll.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in an EBD/SEMH school or PRU. It is imperative you have a calm personality and are confident working on a 1:1 basis, as students can sometimes be placed in isolation. For more experienced candidates the school are open to speaking about additional responsibilities. Specialist training will also be provided to ensure you are providing the best support to students.
Key skills and experience needed:
* Experience working in specialist schools such as SEN schools or Pupil Referral Units
* Previous support work within a school or other child related experience
* Strong behaviour management and confident with challenging behaviour
* SEN experience is essential
* One to one and small group work
* Professional manner
* Enthusiastic and friendly, yet firm approach
