Location: Headington, Oxford (OX3)
Start Date: 1st September 2025
Salary: £25,430 – £31,078 (actual)
Additional Allowances: Special Schools Allowance (£750) + Regional Allowance (£930)


About the Role
Teaching Personnel is proud to partner with a unique and inclusive specialist setting in Headington, Oxford, currently seeking an experienced Pupil Behaviour, Safeguarding and Wellbeing Manager to join their passionate and dynamic team. This is a rare opportunity to play a key role in a school that’s on an exciting journey toward becoming a centre of excellence in SEND provision.

Working closely with the Deputy Principal and Senior Leadership Team, you will lead on pupil behaviour, wellbeing, and safeguarding practices across the school. You’ll help shape a supportive learning environment where every student can thrive – emotionally, socially, and academically.


What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Overseeing and developing behaviour and wellbeing strategies school-wide.

  • Monitoring safeguarding and child protection matters in collaboration with the Principal.

  • Promoting positive behaviour and restorative approaches tailored to individual student needs.

  • Supporting staff to embed best practice for wellbeing and mental health.

  • Leading by example, modelling professional resilience, patience, and reflective practice.

  • Keeping accurate records and reporting on student outcomes and safeguarding actions.


What We’re Looking For:

  • A confident, physically fit professional with a proven background in behaviour support, safeguarding, or inclusion (ideally within a special education setting).

  • Skilled in de-escalation, behaviour planning, and emotionally informed approaches.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, record-keeping, and team collaboration skills.

  • Passion for helping young people with additional needs overcome barriers and reach their potential.

  • Resilience and calmness under pressure, with a compassionate and firm leadership style.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
