  • Supporting children with SEND, including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs and social, emotional and mental health needs
  • Spotting what lies behind a behaviour and responding calmly and consistently
  • Running structured interventions in reading, maths and social skills
  • Helping pupils manage emotions, build friendships and feel secure at school
  • Sharing what you observe with teachers and the SENCO to help shape support
  • Preparing resources and helping keep lessons running smoothly

What we’re looking for

A psychology degree (or a place in the final year of one) is ideal. We also welcome graduates in related subjects such as education, sociology or neuroscience.

Essential:

  • Dependability and a flexible, can-do attitude
  • Clear communication with pupils, staff and families
  • A firm commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare
  • The right to work in the UK

Desirable:

  • Experience with children or young people, such as tutoring, mentoring, youth work, childcare or volunteering
  • Experience of SEND, mental health support or a related setting
  • Knowledge of child development, attachment or behaviour support approaches
  • First aid or Team Teach training

What you’ll gain

  • Practical experience that strengthens applications for educational psychology, clinical psychology, teacher training and similar routes
  • A named consultant who knows the local schools and will match you to the right setting
  • Weekly pay, with the option to work flexibly around your studies or other commitments
  • Chances to step into longer-term or permanent roles
  • Free access to training, including [safeguarding, behaviour management, SEND awareness, etc.]
