Are you a Psychology Graduate, or currently studying a degree associated with Psychology?

Would you like a full time/part time employment which is associated with your degree?

A prominent SEN School in CV7 Coventry is seeking to employ a Psychology Graduate to work as a teaching assistant supporting KS3/4 on a long-term basis to start ASAP. The role will involve supporting young people with additional needs on a 1:1 and small group basis. This role is full time, Monday - Friday, 8:30am-15:30pm up until the end of the academic year with the opportunity to become a permanent staff from September.

This school caters for young people between the ages of 5-16 who have a range of special educational needs such as: Autism, Severe Learning difficulties, Profound and multiple learning difficulties. This well-established school has a fantastic ethos in its approach to its pupils, however some of the children may require assistance with personal care, so you must have a willingness to support with this element of the role. Also, some children can display verbally and physically challenging behaviour, therefore additional training such as Team-Teach would be beneficial; Teaching Personnel offer this training.

The successful Psychology Graduate will have a good theoretical understanding of Psychology and Special educational needs. You must also be confident, resilient and have a genuine desire to help young people with SEN progress.

School have also stated they will consider applicants without a Psychology degree if they have experience in the below areas:

  • Support/care work
  • Personal assistant work
  • Residential care work
  • Community based work

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
