Teaching Personnel are searching for an experienced SEMH specialist to work in a highly regarded PRU in the Milton Keynes area. The PRU specialises in working with secondary aged students who have been permanently excluded from mainstream settings. You'll be working on a one to one basis and in groups with students with challenging behaviour.
We are working with a Pupil referral unit who are looking for a Teaching Assistant to work on a one-to-one basis with secondary aged students who struggle with their Social, Emotional and Mental Health. Students may also present additional needs such as ADHD/Mild ASD/Asperger's etc. This role requires patience and an empathetic approach.
The successful Teaching Assistants will have experience supporting challenging behaviour and/or other complex needs, have strong classroom and behaviour management and available to start immediately. You will be resilient, show initiative and believe you have the potential to deliver outstanding outcomes.
To be considered for the Teaching Assistant for PRU role you must:
- Excellent approach to supporting vulnerable young learners
- Have the ability to maintain a positive learning experience
- Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of school staff
- Be non-judgemental and open minded
You will be working with challenging behaviour and/or other complex needs and therefore must be strong and adaptable with your approach. Supporting pupil progress and development in and outside the classroom, complementing the work and direction given by the Teacher.
