Job description

PUPIL REFERALL UNIT - TEACHING ASSISTANTS REQUIRED

Teaching Personnel Bristol is seeking to recruit Teaching Assistants to work in a Pupil Referal Unit (PRU) located in Kingswood (BS15). This PRU has both a Primary and a Secondary site so the students you will be supporting will be of varying ages.

Teaching Personnel has recently signed a partnership agreement with this PRU and so we are now looking to build up a team of reliable Behaviour Support Teaching Assistants to work with a vast array of pupils with SEMH needs.

The roles available are both full time and part time. There will also be flexible day to day supply available.

£57-£70 daily pay rate

What will you be doing?

You will be supporting students both in class support and on a 1:1 basis with individual pupils outside of the lesson.

The pupils will have SEMH needs and will be prone to outbursts meaning that you may not always be classroom based. Prior experience of working with children with challenging behaviour would be advantageous.

The students in this PRU have been excluded from mainstream education and so this will mean that the ideal candidate would be resilient, calm under pressure and not at all phased by challenging behaviour. If you have some form of positive behaviour management training such as MAPPA or Team Teach this is desirable, but not essential. This PRU trains the staff with MAPPA.

Benefits of Working with Teaching Personnel:

  • Specialist Recruitment Consultant dedicated to finding you work and offering support.
  • Competitive and Fair Pay Rate
  • Access to our CPD Academy - this provides you with opportunities to take courses such as Team Teach and Child Protection Training
  • Refer a Friend Scheme - financial benefits for every friend that joins us!
  • Weekly Pay - you will be paid weekly directly into your bank account

If this is a role that interests you, please apply with your CV and cover letter. I look forward to hearing from you.
