Job description

Are you a compassionate and experienced primary teacher with a desire to make a difference? TPTutors is looking for a dedicated Primary Tutor to support Looked After Children (LAC) in the Gateshead area—both those currently out of education and those who may need additional support within a school setting.

This rewarding role involves delivering the primary curriculum through tailored, one-to-one or small-group sessions—either at home, in school, or in the community—helping pupils re-engage with learning while they await a new school place or require additional support within their current setting.

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS essential)

  • Experience teaching the primary curriculum (EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2)

  • Understanding of the needs of Looked After Children and those out of mainstream education

  • A calm, patient, and nurturing approach to supporting vulnerable learners

  • Confidence delivering engaging, child-led sessions in a range of environments (home, school, community)

  • Flexibility and independence to manage your own timetable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
