Job Title: Primary Tutor
Location:Blyth
Salary: £25–£35 per hour, depending on experience and referral type
Hours: Fully flexible – choose your own schedule
Contract: Full-time or part-time, freelance basis

Who We Are

TP Tutors partners with Local Authorities to provide high-impact, tailored tuition to children who need it most. Our learners may be:

  • In foster care or awaiting school placement

  • Living with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

  • Recently excluded or new to the UK with English as a second language

No matter their background, we believe every child deserves the chance to thrive – and we’re looking for passionate educators to help make that happen.

The Role

As a TP Tutor, you’ll deliver 1:1 or small-group tuition sessions in-person – either in the pupil’s home or a nearby community setting. You’ll receive pupil referrals in your subject areas and have full control over your schedule and workload.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, individualised lessons

  • Liaising with carers/parents to coordinate session times

  • Monitoring and reporting on progress using our user-friendly platform, LEAP

  • Creating a safe, positive learning environment where pupils can rebuild confidence and reconnect with education

What We’re Looking For

We want to hear from educators who are passionate about making a difference:

  • QTS, PGCE, or significant tutoring/classroom experience

  • Experience with SEN, SEMH, or looked-after children

  • Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach

  • Confident working independently and adapting to different needs

  • Familiarity with the UK curriculum

  • Enhanced DBS check (or willing to apply)

  • Safeguarding & Prevent training (can be provided)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
