Job: Teaching Assistant (KS2) - Additional Learning Needs Support
Our lovely client primary school is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team and provide essential support to pupils with Additional Learning Needs. The successful candidate will primarily work with students who require extra assistance with reading and writing, as well as English and maths.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to identify students with Additional Learning Needs and devise appropriate support strategies.
- Provide targeted one-on-one or small group support to students, focusing on reading, writing, English, and maths.
- Develop and implement individualised learning plans to cater to the specific needs of each student.
- Support students in completing tasks and activities, ensuring understanding and engagement.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to the class teacher and SENCO.
- Assist in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Collaborate with other school staff and external agencies as required to facilitate student progress.
- Provide assistance during class activities, ensuring the inclusion and participation of all students.
- Help students develop their confidence and independence in academic tasks.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a similar role, preferably within a primary school setting.
- A passion for working with children and a genuine desire to make a positive impact.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
- Knowledge of various strategies and interventions to support students with Additional Learning Needs
- An understanding of the KS2 curriculum and the ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual students.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience when facing challenges.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi task effectively.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
Working Hours:
This is a full-time position starting January 2024, requiring the successful candidate to work 8:30-3:30 Monday – Friday.
Salary:
The pay for this role is £11.85 per hour.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
