Job description

Teaching Personnel are proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive Primary School in the Reading area, who are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Upper KS2 Teacher to join their team from January 2026.

This is a part-time position (3 days per week), teaching a Year 5 class. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons, and will play a key role in supporting pupils’ academic and personal development as they prepare for their transition into Year 6 in September 2026.

About the Role

  • Teaching a Year 5 class on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday
  • Planning and preparation required for the three teaching days
  • Creating a stimulating and engaging learning environment that promotes progress and confidence
  • Working closely with the Year 5/6 team to ensure a smooth transition for pupils moving into Year 6
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching within Upper Key Stage 2 (desirable but not essential)
  • Strong classroom management and differentiation skills
  • A positive, adaptable, and reflective approach to teaching
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom culture

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
