Job description

We are working with a specialist SEMH (Social Emotional Mental Health) school who cater for children 11 - 16 years old. Each student has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and the school are looking to appoint a Primary trained Teacher on a full time basis. 

The role:

The successful teacher will teach a broad and balanced curriculum, adapting your approach to meet the diverse needs of each student. You will need to be able to build strong, positive relationships whilst creating a purposeful and nurturing learning environment. You will play a key role in supporting progress across the curriculum, where some students may be working below age-related expectations.

This role is perfect for a teacher who thrives in a flexible, student-centred environment, where the aim is to help each student thrive and succeed. 

What we are looking for:

If you are a Primary trained Teacher who can deliver across subjects and adapt your teaching to meet individual needs. SEN/SEMH experience is valued, but a strong interest in inclusive education is paramount. The successful teacher will be someone who:

  • Delivers high-quality and structured teaching with excellent classroom practice
  • Understands how to best support students with gaps in learning, or who are working below ARE.
  • Brings a trauma-informed, therapeutic approach to teaching
  • Is adaptable, organised and calm under pressure
  • Has strong communication skills and a reflective mindset
  • Can motivate, challenge and inspire students
  • Has high expectations of behaviour, engagement and achievement
  • Has the flexibility to teach in any area of the school, if needed

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
