Responsibilities

  • teaching all areas of the primary curriculum with responsibility for the progress of a class of primary-age pupils
  • organising the classroom and learning resources and creating displays to encourage a positive learning environment
  • planning, preparing and presenting lessons to meet the needs of varied abilities
  • motivating pupils with enthusiasm and energy whilst modelling positive behaviour
  • preparing and marking work to facilitate positive pupil development
  • assessing and recording pupils' learning and development
  • providing feedback at parents' evenings and school meetings
  • organising resources and activities across the curriculum
  • working as part of a supportive team to coordinate schemes of work
  • working flexibly to accommodate changes in the curriculum and attending school events including occasional weekends or evenings
  • liaising with other education professionals to support children and ensure individual needs are met

Requirements and skills

  • Teaching qualification such as BEd/BSc/BA or PCGE with QTS
  • excellent communication and interpersonal qualities
  • good organisational and time-management skills
  • energy, enthusiasm, resilience, commitment, patience, professionalism & initiative
  • leadership potential and good teamwork ethics
  • imaginative and creative ability combined with a sense of humour
  • positive health record and current DBS
  • Have two relevant employment references from education professionals

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
