Year 5 Primary Teacher (0.4 Contract) – East Grinstead
Start Date: September
Salary: M1–M6 (pro rata, in line with teacher pay scale)
Days: 2 days per week (flexible)
Contract: Part-Time | Permanent
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Year 5 Teacher to join our friendly and supportive team in East Grinstead from September. This is a 0.4 part-time position (2 days per week) with flexibility on which days are worked. Ideal for an experienced teacher or ECT looking to make a meaningful impact in a positive and inclusive Key Stage 2 environment.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging and well-structured lessons for a Year 5 class

Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment where all pupils feel valued

Monitor and assess pupil progress, tailoring support and feedback to individual needs

Collaborate effectively with year group colleagues, teaching assistants, and support staff

Promote pupils’ social and emotional development alongside academic progress
-
Maintain positive behaviour management strategies that support a focused learning environment
-
Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and wellbeing
-
Engage with professional development and contribute to the wider school community
About You
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
-
Good knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum, particularly Year 5
-
Experience teaching in upper KS2 (desirable, but not essential – ECTs welcome to apply)

A creative and reflective approach to teaching and learning

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Well-organised, proactive, and committed to high standards

A positive, enthusiastic attitude and a passion for helping children thrive

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
