Primary School Teacher - North Yorkshire - SEND

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a primary school in North Yorkshire to recruit an experienced teacher to teach Key Stages 1 and 2. The position is to work alongside children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues and therefore demands a dedicated individual wanting to fully commit to the role. The successful candidate is to work on a full time basis, commencing in September 2019.

As a SEMH primary school teacher, you will be supporting children who often display challenging behaviour. Because of this, the candidate must have some experience working with children and young people with SEMH. As well as this, de-escalation training would be advantageous and the school would also consider a candidate with youth work backgrounds, or similar roles. The candidate must be qualified to teach at primary school level as well as having an awareness of the curriculum.

You will be working with children and young people who display challenging behaviour such as:

• Anxiety
• Exclusion
• Speech and language difficulties
• A disengagement with the classroom and learning
• Withdrawn attitudes
• Frustrated, angry and aggressive tempers
• Truancy

Teaching Personnel can offer teachers competitive pay rates of £500-600 per week, however long term rates can be negotiated on your behalf. The role will be held until the end of August.
