Premises Assistant – Southwark – Immediate Start – Permanent
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Premises Assistant to join a committed team supporting a dynamic and forward-thinking school in Southwark. This is a permanent role with an immediate start, offering an opportunity to play a vital part in creating a safe, clean, and welcoming learning environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
You will be responsible for maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and functionality of the school site, including building security, repairs, emergency cleaning, and site upkeep. The ideal candidate will be proactive, solution-focused, and take pride in the quality of their work.
Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the site is always secure, safe, and presentable
-
Perform regular site checks and respond to helpdesk requests
-
Carry out minor repairs and routine maintenance tasks
-
Operate building systems including BMS, CCTV, heating and water
-
Support with fire evacuation procedures and emergency cleaning
-
Maintain outdoor areas including gritting and snow clearance
The successful candidate will have:
-
Right to work in the UK
-
Basic training in site maintenance (e.g. plumbing, electrical, carpentry)

Practical understanding of health & safety procedures
-
A flexible, calm, and team-oriented approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
