We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated team at a thriving school in Plymouth, part of a fantastic local Multi-Academy Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking for a gentler introduction to classroom teaching, while still making a real impact on pupils' learning and development.

About the Role

As our HLTA, you will:

  • Deliver pre-set lessons in the absence of the class teacher.

  • Provide PPA (Planning, Preparation and Assessment) cover.

  • Work closely with teachers to support targeted interventions across key stages.

  • Contribute to the learning, progress, and well-being of our pupils in a flexible and hands-on role.

Ideal Candidate

This role is perfect for:

  • Recent BEd graduates who are not yet ready to commit to full-time class teaching.

  • Experienced TAs or HLTAs seeking progression.

  • Individuals with a passion for education and a desire to work collaboratively within a team.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Confident managing a class and delivering engaging lessons from pre-prepared plans.

  • Adaptable and proactive in a dynamic school setting.

  • Positive, professional, and committed to inclusive education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
