Location: Staffordshire (ST11, ST3, and nearby areas)
Pay: £90– £130 per day (depending on experience)

Make a Difference Supporting Young People with SEMH Needs

Are you passionate about helping young people succeed? Teaching Personnel are seeking empathetic, adaptable, and confident individuals to join specialist schools in Staffordshire. In this role, you’ll support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them manage behaviour, rebuild confidence, and re-engage with learning.

No formal experience in education is required — we welcome candidates with transferable skills from youth work, sports coaching, mentoring, care, or customer service roles.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Providing 1:1 or small-group support to pupils, focusing on emotional regulation and positive behaviour

  • Supporting and implementing behaviour plans while building strong relationships

  • Managing challenging situations calmly and professionally

  • Collaborating with teachers, pastoral leads, and external professionals

  • Encouraging attendance, engagement, and wellbeing across the school

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong communicators who remain calm under pressure

  • Individuals with transferable experience from education, care, youth work, or customer-facing roles

  • Patience, resilience, and a positive approach to supporting challenging behaviour

  • A genuine desire to make a meaningful difference in young lives

  • DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
