Teaching Personnel is recruiting a Positive Behaviour Support Assistant to join a specialist Secondary SEMH school in Manchester this September. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils who thrive with patience, consistency and strong relationships.

This role goes far beyond classroom support. You'll become a trusted mentor, helping students develop emotional resilience, confidence and the skills they need to succeed both in education and beyond.

Your role will include:

  • Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups throughout the school day.
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils who may have experienced barriers to learning.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and helping students develop emotional regulation strategies.
  • Supporting pupils to re-engage with learning and achieve their individual goals.
  • Working alongside teachers, therapists and pastoral teams to deliver consistent support.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and positive social interactions.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, SEND or challenging behaviour, or transferable experience from care, youth work, coaching or residential settings.
  • Is calm, resilient and confident when managing challenging situations.
  • Can build rapport quickly and become a positive role model.
  • Has excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
  • Wants to make a lasting difference every single day.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
