Job description

Position: PMLD Support Teaching Assistant

Location: South Shore, Black
Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a delightful Year 2 child with PMLD, ensuring their individual needs are met with care and sensitivity.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored educational plans and engaging activities.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where the child feels safe, supported, and valued.
  • Support the child’s social, emotional, and academic development through personalized interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to monitor and report on progress.
  • Assist with personal care tasks, always maintaining the child’s dignity and comfort.
  • Encourage participation in classroom and school-wide activities, adapting approaches as needed.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children with PMLD or other special educational needs.
  • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the child’s evolving needs.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN (preferred but not essential).
