Have you got experience working with Early years or Primary age children?
Are you caring, patient and energetic?
Our client school in Oldham are looking for Play workers to support primary age students with moderate to severe special needs in their nurture base.
The Role
You will be supporting the children in an educational setting who have multi sensory and cognitive impairments. Due to their needs the nurture base provides plenty of sensory and holistic activities to encourage further development, with which you will assist.
You will work with either one or small groups, ensuring all of the students are safe, involved and enjoying their experience. Additional responsibilities may include moving and handling, feeding and personal care.
The role is on a full time (8.30am - 3.30pm Mon-Fri) on a temporary basis, however if you work well in this role the opportunity to move to a permanent contract may arise.
You
You will need to be caring and patient as many of these students will require consistent care and will rely on you for most things. It is important to be encouraging and supportive at all times to ensure the students feel motivated and secure in your care.
Ideally you will have worked in a childcare, support work or education environment and be open to the responsibilities required of this role.
You must have a child workforce DBS which is registered to the update service, or be willing to obtain one through Teaching Personnel.
About Teaching Personnel;

- Sector specialist consultants in SEN, Primary and Secondary who have backgrounds in education and teaching
