PE Teaching Assistant - Full Time - Oldham

Full time position for a PE Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted graded 'Good' school for the remainder of the academic year.

Teaching Personnel are working as recruitment partners for an Ofsted graded 'Good' school in Oldham who require a PE Teaching Assistant to join the school with immediate effect for a long term position with the opportunity for a permanent contract at the end of the academic year. The school would like to invite potential PE Teaching Assistants in for interview at the soonest convenience and as such we recommend applying right away.

  • Full time position as a PE Teaching Assistant, supporting the class teacher in both practical and theoretical lessons.
  • Earn up to £60 a day, dependent on experience and responsibilities.
  • Working within a large modern secondary school in Oldham graded 'Good' by Ofsted.
  • Further development opportunities available through Teaching Personnel's CPD courses.

As a PE Teaching Assistant you will be required to support the class teacher in the planning, delivery and marking of lessons both theory based and practical. Alongside this you will be tasked with supporting the pupils on a 1:1 and group basis as you assist them in improving their sporting ability and helping with any additional needs they may have, whether these are learning, behaviour, SEN or SEMH related. This is an excellent opportunity for any recent sport or coaching graduates seeking further experience in a secondary school setting before enrolling on a PGCE or similar Teacher Training Programme.

Our client school is a large modern secondary school in Oldham which was recently graded 'Good' by Ofsted. The school has excellent facilities throughout, particularly in the PE department which offers excellent provisions for teaching and learning.
