PE Teacher

A school in Tameside requires a PE Teacher to join the teaching staff in January 2021. The required individual must hold QTS,  and be competent in the teaching of multiple sports. It is also expected that the required individual will have strong subject knowledge based on the theory expectations of the subject.

The teacher required will be able to effectively teach the following sports:

• Football/Rugby/Netball/Athletics/Basketball/Gymnastics

Key aspects of this role include:

• Delivering high quality PE lessons, being able to implement effective strategies and methods to allow all children to thrive within the subject.
• Forming strong working relationships with staff and students.
• Working under the guidance of the Head of Department, encouraging students to consider the importance of health, fitness and physical activity as a whole.
• Working with support staff in identifying students who may require further extended 1:1 support when necessary.
• Making adequate arrangements for students with SEN.
• Maintaining student engagement, inspiring students who are disengaged to participate to the best of their ability.
• Delivering GCSE syllabus, preparing students for exams as well as internal assessments on both a practical and theoretical basis.
• Monitoring attendance, preparing students for matches and ensuring that the equipment for lessons is efficiently maintained and organised.
• Pay - GBP25,000 - GBP41,000 based on prior experience.
