PE Teacher

A well-established secondary school on the edge of Oldham is looking to appoint a dynamic and motivated PE teacher for a September start. This is initially a maternity cover position, with potential for extension or permanency.

The PE department is energetic, team-oriented, and benefits from a brand-new sports hub including a multi-purpose gym, indoor courts, outdoor 3G pitches, and a fitness suite. The school places a high value on physical wellbeing and promotes sport as central to school life, with a busy calendar of fixtures and tournaments throughout the year.

All students participate in core PE, with additional options available at KS4 including BTEC Sport. The department runs breakfast clubs, after-school enrichment, and inter-house competitions, creating a real sense of participation and pride across the student body.

Staff are supported with clear routines for behaviour and a centralised system for managing conduct, allowing lessons to remain purposeful and focused. Strong collaboration between pastoral and PE teams helps ensure every pupil is included and encouraged.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
