Pathways & Cookery Teacher – Full Time
Location: South Shields
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Start Date: January

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Pathways & Cookery Teacher to join our dedicated team in South Shields. Our school supports pupils with a wide range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), and we are looking for someone who is passionate about helping every learner thrive.

About the Role

  • Monday mornings: Deliver engaging Life Skills sessions, working collaboratively with other tutor groups to support personal development, confidence, and independence.

  • Remaining timetable: Teach Cookery across the school, creating fun, hands-on lessons that build practical cooking skills, confidence, and an understanding of healthy lifestyles.

  • Plan, deliver, and assess lessons tailored to a diverse range of learning needs.

  • Work as part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team committed to high-quality SEN provision.

  • Promote a nurturing, inclusive, and safe learning environment.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you are:

  • A qualified teacher or an experienced instructor with a passion for Life Skills and Cookery.

  • Experienced in, or enthusiastic about, working with pupils with a variety of SEN needs.

  • Creative, patient, and resilient, with strong classroom-management skills.

  • Able to differentiate learning and build strong, positive relationships with students.

  • A strong communicator who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
