Pastoral Support Worker

A friendly and inclusive primary school is looking for a compassionate and proactive Pastoral Support Worker to join their team. This rewarding role is ideal for someone who is committed to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential both academically and emotionally.
The Role
- Provide pastoral support to pupils across the school.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
- Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
- Deliver targeted interventions and wellbeing support sessions.
- Work closely with teachers and senior leaders to improve pupil engagement.
- Monitor attendance, wellbeing, and behaviour where required.
- Promote positive behaviour and help create a nurturing school environment.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with children or young people.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
- Ability to support pupils facing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges.
- Experience within a school, youth work, mentoring, or pastoral setting is desirable.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
