Pastoral Manager
Blackpool Secondary School Full-Time | Long-Term Position Start Date: January 2027
Are you passionate about supporting young people to achieve their full potential? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Manager to join a thriving secondary school in Blackpool from January 2027 on a full-time, long-term basis.

The Role
As a Pastoral Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the personal, social, emotional, and behavioural development of students across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will work closely with pupils, parents, teaching staff, and external agencies to ensure students receive the support they need to succeed both academically and personally.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing pastoral support to students across KS3 and KS4.
- Monitoring attendance, behaviour, and wellbeing, intervening where necessary.
- Building positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
- Supporting the implementation of behaviour and safeguarding policies.
- Working alongside Heads of Year, Senior Leaders, and external agencies to support vulnerable pupils.
- Identifying and removing barriers to learning.
- Promoting a positive and inclusive school culture.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience working with young people within Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to manage challenging situations calmly and effectively.
- A proactive and supportive approach to student welfare.
- A genuine passion for improving outcomes for young people.
Previous experience in a pastoral role is desirable but not essential. Candidates with relevant experience supporting secondary-aged students in schools, youth work, mentoring, behaviour support, or similar settings are encouraged to apply.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
