We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and highly motivated Pastoral Manager to join our thriving secondary school in Blackpool. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning, achieve their full potential, and develop into confident, resilient individuals.
As a key member of our pastoral team, you will work closely with students, families, teaching staff, and external agencies to promote positive behaviour, wellbeing, attendance, and safeguarding across the school.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality pastoral support to students across a designated year group.
- Develop positive relationships with students to support their personal, social, and emotional wellbeing.
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, behaviour, and engagement, implementing timely interventions where required.
- Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and outside agencies to ensure students receive appropriate support.
- Support the school's safeguarding procedures and promote a culture of safety and wellbeing.
- Assist in managing behaviour incidents and restorative practices.
- Contribute to strategies that improve attendance, achievement, and student outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records and reports relating to pastoral support and interventions.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational setting.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, attendance, behaviour management, and student wellbeing.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team while also using their own initiative.
- A commitment to promoting inclusion, equality, and high expectations for all students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
