Part-time DT Teacher

Are you a qualified DT teacher looking for a part-time role (school is open to a 0.6 or 0.8 contract) delivering lessons and supporting students in a range of subjects?

Do you want to make a difference to young people by creating a positive and engaging learning environment within Design & Technology?

We’re looking for DT Teachers to work at a secondary school in the Westbury Area. This school is fully comprehensive and has a good reputation, with strong commitment to the students’ wellbeing and positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and practical DT lessons tailored to Key Stage 3 and 4 students.
  • Encourage a safe, structured, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students, acting as a mentor and guide to support their personal and academic growth.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, using strategies to engage and motivate students with challenging behaviour.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to monitor progress and implement methods that help students achieve their potential.

What are we looking for?

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism or strong background in Design and Technology.
  • Experience in teaching at secondary level.
  • Strong behavioural management skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to a range of lessons in different school settings.
  • A valid Enhanced child only DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with staff and students
  • The want to inspire students to reach their full potential with a positive attitude and patience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
