Part-Time Year 6 Teacher – Burnley Primary School

Position: Year 6 Class Teacher (Part-Time – Thursdays & Fridays)
Location: Burnley, Lancashire
Contract Type: Part-Time, Fixed-Term (2 days/week)
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: MPS (Pro-rata)
Contract Duration: Fixed-term for the 2025–2026 academic year

Are you an enthusiastic and committed Key Stage 2 teacher looking for a part-time opportunity? We are seeking a passionate and experienced Year 6 Teacher to join our friendly and forward-thinking school team in Burnley on a Thursday and Friday basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity to teach at the top of the primary phase, supporting pupils as they prepare for secondary school and SATs, while working in a supportive and well-resourced environment.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons across all core subjects in Year 6.

  • Work collaboratively with the parallel class teacher to ensure continuity of learning.

  • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to assessments, particularly in preparation for SATs.

  • Support pupils' emotional and social development during this key transitional year.

  • Maintain a safe and stimulating classroom environment.

 We’re Looking For Someone Who:

  • Is a qualified teacher with experience teaching in Upper Key Stage 2 (Year 6 preferred).

  • Has a strong understanding of the Year 6 curriculum and SATs preparation.

  • Brings enthusiasm, resilience, and excellent classroom management.

  • Is able to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.

  • Can work effectively as part of a team and contribute to a shared planning model.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
