Are you a passionate History teacher with a talent for engaging students who need a different approach to learning? Do you have strong behaviour management skills and a commitment to helping every student succeed?

An Alternative Provision is seeking a Part-Time History Teacher to join their dedicated team from September.

Start Date: September 2025
Location: East Lancashire 
Contract Type: Part-time, long-term
Pay: Dependent on skills and experience
Setting: Alternative Provision (Secondary)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and accessible History lessons to KS3 and KS4 students

  • Adapt teaching to meet a range of needs and learning styles

  • Work closely with support staff to maintain a positive and productive learning environment

  • Use effective behaviour management strategies to support students with SEMH and behavioural needs

  • Contribute to the wider school community and pastoral support systems

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Be a qualified teacher with experience delivering History at secondary level

  • Have strong behaviour management skills and experience working with challenging behaviour

  • Be resilient, patient, and creative in their teaching approach

  • Have a genuine passion for supporting young people in alternative education settings

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
