SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Accrington)

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Accrington. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.

• Work with small groups of children, adapting activities to meet individual learning needs.

• Support the class teacher in creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

• Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social development.

• Help implement EHCP targets and personalised learning strategies.

What We’re Looking For

• A patient, nurturing, and proactive individual.

• Experience supporting children with SEN, behavioural needs, or additional learning needs is desirable.

• Individuals with a residential care, support work, or youth work background are strongly encouraged to apply.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

• A genuine passion for helping children succeed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
