Job Description:

Are you a talented Hair and Beauty Specialist with a passion for working with children and adolescents? Do you possess the skills and experience to help students look and feel their best? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team at a local secondary school in Plymouth.

Responsibilities:

As a Part-Time Hair and Beauty Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  1. Providing hair and beauty services to students, including but not limited to haircuts, styling, makeup, and nail treatments.
  2. Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for students to feel comfortable while receiving services.
  3. Collaborating with school staff to schedule appointments and ensure smooth operations.
  4. Teaching basic hair and beauty techniques to interested students and providing guidance on proper grooming and hygiene.
  5. Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety standards.
  6. Monitoring and ordering necessary supplies and products.
  7. Adhering to all school policies and guidelines, including maintaining confidentiality.
  8. Participating in school events and special projects related to the hair and beauty program.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you should possess the following qualifications:

  1. Proven experience working in the hair and beauty industry, with a valid certification or license (if applicable).
  2. Experience working with children or adolescents in a professional or educational setting.
  3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  4. Patience, empathy, and the ability to create a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
  5. Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to the hair and beauty industry.
  6. Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate varying student needs and schedules.
  7. Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions.
  8. A genuine passion for helping students build confidence and self-esteem through grooming and beauty services.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
