The Head Teacher of a secondary school in Leyland is looking to appoint a Teacher of English for Key Stages 3 & 4. The successful candidate will join a highly supportive and successful English Department to cover a Maternity leave, starting in October 2019.

The school was the 8th most improved school in Lancashire, and has gone from strength to strength. The school's key strength is making the children feel safe, secure and happy. There are 827 young people on roll. The intake profile in both socio-economic and academic terms is that of a fairly typical comprehensive school.

The school believe that school life is more than exam results, but about making friendships and personal growth through out the children's time there.

You will be responsible for:

  • Planning and delivering high quality lessons
  • Managing student behaviour effectively
  • Effective marking and feedback
  • Setting appropriate homework
  • Progress, behaviour and welfare of students in classes.
  • A tutor group
